UFC Fight Night Gray Maynard vs Roger Huerta
In the 19th UFC Fight Night series, a showdown for the lightweight championship is expected to happen between Roger Huerta and Gray Maynard. The bout is scheduled for 16th September and the venue is at the Cox Convention centre, Oklahoma City. Through the various sources, the confirmation of the match was found and that both the opponent had agreed on it too.
Maynard is looking forward to continue his undefeated saga at the octagon. He is very close to the lightweight title after having 5 straight victories, recently being the win over Jim Miller at the UFC ’96.
Huerta would be making his comeback and the first one into an action ever since the loss because of the decision taken unanimously in Kenny Florian’s hands in 2008 in August. Recently he declined a contract that was new for the UFC, so as to pursue an acting career. This fight is like a fulfilment of the company’s obligations.
Maynard is a pro MMA but an amateur as a wrestler. Currently, he is competing as a fighter of MMA in the UFC division of lightweight. In his career in MMA he is undefeated and also possesses a record for giving the fastest knockouts in the history of UFC. And he also has the reputation of acquiring a win over Frank Edgar, a UFC lightweight standout. In the round of prelims he had defeated Wayne Weems and Brandon Melendez in the quarter finals.
Roger Huerta is an American MMA having a Mexican and a Salvadorian descent. He competes in the UFC division of lightweight. He would be making is debut as an actor as Miguel Caballero Rojo in Tekken, which would be a live motion picture of action. He was originally scheduled to make his debut in UFC bout with Hermes Franca but because of an injury in the elbow he had to withdraw.
