WASHINGTON CITY— Emergency personnel responded Monday afternoon to a bumper-to-bumber-bumper crash on the southbound Interstate 15 exit 10 ramp near the intersection of Green Springs Drive and Buena Vista Boulevard.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden told St. George News that at 12:08 pm, a Honda Accord was traveling southbound and took exit 10. The driver apparently did not realize traffic was stopped on the ramp and collided with the back of a Subaru Impreza, which subsequently crashed into the back of a Toyota Forerunner.

A line of cars formed on the shoulder of the exit ramp in response to the incident. Among them were those involved in the chain reaction, the Incident Management team, UHP troopers and two tow truck drivers.

The Honda sustained front-end damage, while the Subaru suffered both front-end and back-end damage. Neither car was driveable and had to be towed away. The Toyota, however, appeared to be driveable.

Roden said it does not appear there were any injuries and impact on traffic was minimal. The Honda driver was cited for following too close.

This report is based on information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.
