Whether it’s the Trader Joe’s Supergoop! sunscreen dupe or the Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil, TikTok is well-known for popularizing niche beauty products, turning them viral practically overnight — and one of TikTok’s latest viral beauty products is none other than the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush.
The hashtag #pixiblushstick on TikTok has quickly garnered over nine million views and has sold out numerous times at major retail stores like Target. On the app, average users and beauty gurus like @mireyarios have raved about the product’s vibrant glow, easy applicator, and buildability. But with so many blushes on the market — and ones that have also gone viral, like Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush — is the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush actually worth the hype?
Wanting to satisfy my curiosity, I got my hands on all three shades of this viral blush and put them to the test. You’re welcome, bestie.
When did the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush first go viral?
While it’s unclear when exactly the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush first gained attention from creators on #BeautyTok, the blush has been a topic of conversation on TikTok for at least a year.
In September 2021, @lookfantastic took to TikTok to share her review of the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush, saying, “Why is no one talking about this?!” Well, we’re talking about it now, but I guess we’re a bit late to the party. User @lookfantastic continued to try the blush and gave a radiant review at the end of her video, exclaiming to the camera, “I look healthy, I look dewy, and it lasts all day. I love it!”
Now, nearly a year later, users are obsessing over the blush again, but in full force. Creators on the app are sharing their honest (and glowing) reviews, as well as tutorials on how to include the viral blush in your daily makeup routine. With Gen Z steering towards more natural and minimal beauty looks this year, it’s no surprise that the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush is making a strong comeback in 2022.
So… Does The Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush live up to the hype?
So, what are the deets on this blush, and is it actually worth all the praise it’s been receiving online?
Priced at $18, the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush is easily comparable to other blushes on the market and is available at major drugstore and retail chains like CVS, Walgreens, and Target, making it more accessible for consumers. The blushes come in three shades, including Fleur (a baby pink color), Juicy (a scarlet shade), and Ruby (a deep red hue). The Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush is also packed with nourishing and natural ingredients, including ginseng, aloe vera, and fruit extracts.
At first glance, the sage green packaging of the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush is chic and simplistic, and its design makes it easy to bring with you on-the-go. I tried all three shades on my skin, and each shade was easily visible on my face with just one swipe. After swiping, I tapped it into my skin with my fingertips (beauty gurus, don‘t come for me) — but other users on the app have even used makeup brushes to blend in the product as well. The consistency of the blush is alike to a balm, and the applicator has a twist on the bottom to reveal more product.
On the skin, the blush is dewy and hydrating, offering a bit of a sheen for that glowing, no-makeup-makeup look. Considering I‘m not very good at makeup and usually wear little to no makeup at all, I found the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush super easy to use and non-intimidating. The shades were buildable and beautiful on the skin — my personal favorite shade is Juicy! — and I love that they’re all formulated with healthy ingredients.
The verdict is in, and the TikTok beauty gods were right — the Pixi Beauty On-The-Glow Blush is definitely worth the hype. Run before it sells out (again).
