The secret to Grace’s enviable glow? On or off the stage, she chooses products that let her skin breathe. A swipe of Nars Dolce Vita blush doesn’t hurt either.

Emerging actor Grace Bentley-Tsibuah has had a busy few years both in front of the camera and on the stage since graduating from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2016.

You might recognize Grace from her impressive recent performance as Cleo alongside Batanai Mashingaidze in the award-winning play, Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner, as Lola from The Bronx in Netflix’s The Royal Treatment, or from the newly released film Nude Tuesday starring Jemaine Clement .

Her talents acting aside, Grace has picked up some pro beauty tips to look flawless in front of the camera, and at times found herself as an accidental makeup artist – learning how to strategically mix concealers, sculpt her face and find sunscreens that don’t leave a white cast on her complexion.

She kindly agreed to open up her beauty shelf and share her skincare-first philosophy and every day glam routine, including the desert island products she can’t live without.

Grace’s beauty shelfie:

Nars Radiant creamy concealer, $49

If I had to take one product to an island it would be this concealer. I use two shades – Biscuit under my eyes and Caramel for hyperpigmentation that’s usually on my chin and forehead. I don’t actually wear foundation, just concealer really.

That’s also good for the stage because then your skin can breathe. If you have too many layers of makeup on it just gets super hot under the light and I sweat it all off in minutes – kinda gross but hey my face doesn’t like to be caked.

Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner, $25

I mist this on my face everyday after I shower. Don’t know if it does much but I love it.

Missha All Around Safe Block Essence SPF45, $25

This step is very important. I used to always have bad reactions to sunblock but this one seems to do the trick. And it doesn’t give a white cast on dark skin.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask, $84

I love this product but I don’t use it all the time, just when I feel my skin needs some love and in the morning I look like a new person. Like, my skin looks new. So definitely recommend this one but don’t use it every day because it is quite heavy.

Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna, $29

After my concealer, I bronze along my cheekbones, jawline and on my forehead. I learned how to contour from makeup artist Luci Hare, she is amazing. I like this one because it’s a good color for my skin.

Nars Blush in Dolce Vita, $49

This blush helps me to look cute and like I am alive.

Stila Stay All Day Dual-Ended Liquid Liner, $49

Love a sharp wing to draw my eyes out a bit. This one is great because it’s just really clean, you can get a good line with it. No mess, and it stays on pretty well.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner in Medium, $35 and Dior Lip Maximiser in Berry

I found this lip combo last year, kinda random but it works for me. I was doing a lip liner with lipstick, but that was a lot to wear everyday. One day I tried the lip liner with the gloss over top and boom bam new combo.
